LeBron James Is Finally a Sixer—and POWER’s Billboard Saga Comes Full Circle
In 2018, LeBron James was heading toward free agency, Philadelphia was deep in “Trust the Process” mode, and POWER had an idea: put up three billboards outside Cleveland and ask one of the greatest basketball players of all time to come to Philly.
Why? Mostly because it sounded fun.
“The original ‘Philly Wants LeBron’ campaign was quintessential POWER,” said Sr. Director of Digital Marketing and longtime Philly sports fan Ray Lodato. “Doing something just because we thought it was cool and because our people would love it.”
The billboards played off the Sixers’ famous slogan, including one that told LeBron to “Complete the Process.”
At the time, Co-CEO Asher Raphael explained the thinking simply: “We think he can go down as the best player in the NBA, and this is the place to do it.”
The campaign was meant to get Philadelphia talking, but it quickly became much bigger than that.

Three billboards spark national conversation

The POWER billboards went viral almost immediately, generating national sports coverage and becoming part of the conversation around LeBron James’ looming free-agency decision.
They even got the attention of LeBron himself. His reaction? “That’s dope.”
Recognition from The Chosen One; not bad for a home remodeling company.
The stunt also helped kick off a larger billboard battle. Soon after POWER made its pitch in Cleveland, LeBron recruitment billboards began popping up elsewhere, including Los Angeles. What started as three signs on the side of a highway had soon become a national sports story.
POWER eventually took the campaign one step further by putting up another billboard in Cleveland featuring employees’ names. The idea was to bring the campaign back to the people who had been cheering it on from the beginning.
And then, of course, LeBron chose Los Angeles. And for a while, that seemed like the end of the story.
Eight years later…
Fast-forward to 2026. LeBron James was once again deciding where he would play next, and POWER employees were watching closely. This time, Philadelphia got its guy.
“There was an overwhelming push from all of our people that are proud he chose Philly and proud that we were a part of the beginning of the conversation,” Asher said. “We think this year could be the year.”
So POWER decided there was only one reasonable thing to do: put up another billboard.
This time, there was no recruiting pitch. The newest billboard along I-95 is simply a victory lap—a celebration of LeBron finally becoming a Sixer and a callback to a joke, an idea, and a campaign that somehow survived eight years.
As Ray put it, “Only makes sense to take a second bite at the apple. After all, Philly still wants LeBron and POWER will always put its people first.”
We are not saying a few billboards outside Cleveland determined LeBron James’ career path. But we are also not not saying it.
To recap: Power Home Remodeling is an exterior home remodeler, a collection of serious sports fans and, apparently, very committed to the bit.
