POWER Raises Over $3 Million for Childhood Cancer Research
In our 15th year of partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), POWER employees have personally raised over $3 million in donations to help fight childhood cancer.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was created in honor of Alex Scott. Before her first birthday, Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. Alex’s childhood looked very different than others; however, even while in intense treatment and fighting for her life, Alex was thinking about other children. When she was four, Alex told her mom she wanted to host a lemonade stand and donate the money to doctors to help other children with cancer, just as they had helped her.
The first stand raised over $2,000. Alex continued hosting lemonade stands to raise money, and others followed her lead. By the time she passed away at eight years old, she had helped raise more than $1 million for cancer research.
Her parents continue her mission through what is now known as Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
ALSF x POWER Partnership
Alex’s goal through her fundraising was to help children with cancer get back to being kids, and to ensure their cancer diagnosis didn’t define their story. A home remodeling company might seem like an unexpected ally to the leading Childhood Cancer Research funder, yet we fit and complement each other for many reasons. At POWER, our mission is to realize the potential in every person, home, and community we touch. Like Alex, we strive to make a difference in every home and person we work with.
By raising funds for ALSF, POWER aims not only to connect our employees to the organization, but also to give them pride in knowing they are helping make a real difference for those in need. POWER’s values align with Alex’s, and we have made it our mission to carry forward what she started.
We realize real impact is not exclusive to dollars donated. Alex’s approach to grassroots giving has significantly influenced our company’s philanthropy model. During our annual ALSF fundraising campaign, we applied Alex’s method by creating many ways for our people to show up and give.
Since POWER’s partnership with ALSF began in 2011, our employees have personally raised over $15.8 million for the cause.

Powering the Cure
Throughout August and September, POWER employees across all territories were fiercely dedicated to raising as much money as possible to help the fight against childhood cancer. When we think about giving, we don’t believe that money is the only thing that holds value —we recognize that people’s time is even more precious. That’s why POWER expanded its support for ALSF, encouraging employees to tap into their entrepreneurial spirit through four unique activations.
Through our company match program, POWER turned our employees’ physical efforts and community outreach into $206,000 for ALSF across four unique activations.
Community Lemonade Stands: For every lemonade stand a POWER employee hosted in their neighborhood, POWER donated $100 to ALSF.
Ronald McDonald House: For every employee group visit to volunteer at a local Ronald McDonald House, POWER donated $250.
Alex’s Million Mile: Throughout September, we encouraged employees to participate in Alex’s Million Mile program, matching every single mile ran, biked, or walked. Through Million Mile alone, we raised $65,000!
Comfort Kits: Employees came together to pack Comfort Kits, bags filled with supportive goodies and handwritten cards of encouragement for children and families undergoing treatment. After being packaged, these kits were donated to Ronald McDonald Houses for families staying in their care.

But the work didn’t stop there. We also hosted territory-specific auctions where employees could bid on items, and we donated the proceeds. From these auctions alone, POWER employees raised over $740,000. Beyond raising money, we also want employees to build a real connection with the foundation.
Hero Families
POWER’s Hero Families are families that live in the communities we operate in, who have a child facing cancer: whether they are currently in treatment, in remission, or have tragically lost their fight. These families have relied on ALSF family resources throughout their journeys, and at POWER, we want to continue supporting them.
During our ALSF fundraising, every territory gifts $500 to their Hero Family, and the office with the most accumulated donations and completed activations gets the opportunity to surprise its Hero Family with a $5,000 prize. Whether it is a Disney Cruise, a new roof, or a vacation, this is our chance to reciprocate the joy and purpose they bring into our lives.

Our Efforts
At Alex’s Kickoff on September 15th, all 5,300 employees could purchase exclusive POWER x ALSF merch, with all proceeds going toward the cause.
In 2025, our team raised $2.85 million. Our goal this year was a whopping $3 million, and across all our activations and initiatives, POWER employees surpassed it! Together, we raised $3,039,000. This incredible amount was raised thanks to our dedicated employees.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is a cause POWER holds dear. Every year, we’re proud of how our employees step up and show they can make a difference — this year is no different. Our efforts with ALSF reflect POWER’s strong, united culture and our commitment to giving back.
Since our partnership began in 2011, we’ve shared Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s mission with our people every year and given them ways to support and uplift the research and families ALSF serves.
As we expand our national footprint and introduce more employees to the cause, we’re also deepening our ties and strengthening how we show up for ALSF. We’re honored to see ALSF grow into the largest independent childhood cancer funder in the U.S., and we look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership and work for years to come.
