Meaningful Community Impact: Nominate for Good
At POWER, we love showing up for our communities and backing the causes our people care about most. Our Nominate for Good program lets employees nominate nonprofits they’re personally connected to for funding support.
Each nonprofit and cause is different, and we’re happy to help our employees make a meaningful difference.
So far in 2026, we’ve approved 51 submissions and have granted over $200,000. Since launching Nominate for Good in 2023, POWER has granted over $3 million to support causes our people are passionate about.
Where do the funds go?
We spoke with four POWER employees about their Nominate for Good experience. From organizations focused on poverty and addiction to special education schooling, we’re proud to make a difference in causes our people care about.
Ian Juzwiak (ORL)
Causes: Addiction, recovery, and sober housing
Nonprofit supported: Recovery Revolutions
Ian chose Recovery Revolutions as his Nominate for Good organization because they previously helped him during his early recovery. Ian then began to give back and help others who struggle with addiction and alcoholism: “In those times of being in service, I got to see behind the scenes how hard it was to do EVERYTHING you want to do because funding is always the issue. So when Nominate for Good started, Recovery Revolutions was the first non-profit that came to mind.”
Now sober for six years, Ian was able to give back to the organization that helped him with a place to live, a foundation for staying sober, and connections in the sober community.
Ian’s grant money has been used to update sober living homes, make them more comfortable, and expand fundraising events.
“My favorite part is the phone call I received from the nonprofit thanking me for helping, and the gratitude in their voice.”
Madison McCardle (HQ)
Causes: Poverty relief, safety, and youth mentorship
Nonprofits supported: Friends For Good & Shoot Basketballs, Not People
Madison helped two organizations receive grants: Friends For Good, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that focuses on direct impact for unhoused individuals and at-risk youth, and Shoot Basketballs, Not People, an organization that empowers youth to fight gun violence through basketball.
Madison is involved with Friends For Good herself: ‘They have allowed me to take the lead on one of our programs, which partners with Clymer Elementary School… I chose them because, time after time, I can see the impact they make and I get to directly help those in my community while meeting like-minded individuals.
Dre Van Lun (LVS)
Causes: Education, financial literacy, and youth confidence
Nonprofit supported: Your Perfect Footwear
Dre’s Nominate for Good grant will primarily support Your Perfect Footwear’s financial literacy program, Books and Bank.
“I sold two pairs to move my family from California to Las Vegas and fly private in the process. A new pair of sneakers is a cheat code to greater self-esteem and comfort… Your Perfect Footwear uses sneakers to incentivize children to be their best selves in academics and extracurricular activities.” After completing the educational program, participants can buy any sneaker they want, up to $150.
For Dre, Nominate for Good was a great experience. “My favorite part of the entire process was being able to tell the nominee that they would be awarded the grant.”
His advice for POWER employees? “If there is any cause that you care about, take the time to make the nomination. Nominate for Good turns your care and energy into grant money that can really make a difference for a group that needs it. That is so powerful. The best communities and organizations are the best funded ones. Fund something epic!”
Rob Borislow, CPO
Causes: Specialized education and student access
Nonprofit supported: Benchmark School
On his third Nominate for Good grant, Rob Borislow most recently chose Benchmark School as his Nominate for Good recipient. Benchmark School is an independent school that specializes in learning differences for grades 1-8.
Rob has direct ties to the school: “My son goes to Benchmark, and it has made such a difference in our lives; I wanted to be able to give back… Not only is the school local to HQ, but our values align; Benchmark was a great match for Nominate for Good.”
The grant money has gone to the Pincus Summer Scholars Program, which enables Benchmark to teach and support students who may not be able to afford year-long tuition.
Rob’s favorite part of Nominate for Good? The fact that it is up to YOU. “You have the ability to help a cause or organization you’re passionate about; there’s no reason to not do it. If I take advantage of it, you should, too.”
Fortunately, Nominate for Good is not the only way our employees can make a difference in their communities. Beyond simple donations, POWER employees can also give back with 8 Volunteer Time Off hours, renewed each year.
